1. Приветствие. Эмоциональный настрой.
Good morning, dear friends. Nice to see you. Look at the blackboard. (There is Bill Gates’ photo on it).
Can you guess what we are going to talk about at the lesson? (Students’ answers). Right you are. Today
we are going to talk about famous self-made people. We will discuss what traits of character are needed
to become successful. We will also answer the question if being rich is the only way of being successful.

right.

*Philanthropist is a rich person who helps the poor and those in need especially by giving money.
Let’s make a spidergram that can help you tell us about Bill Gates’ career.
You can see that he is very rich and successful. Is being rich the only way of being successful? Look at
these photo and pictures ( the photo of Walt Disney and cartoon characters ).
- Was Walt Disney rich?
- What helped him to become world famous?
- What about you ? Do you think that you can become successful in your future life? Let’s
play a game. I will give you sheets of paper and you will write down your traits of character ,
what you are good at and so on. Don’t put down your names. We will guess who wrote it.
(Students swap their sheets and guess who wrote them).
6. Вывод по проблеме.
Let’s make a spidergram that can help you tell your classmates about Bill Gates
career.
7. Рефлексия
Let’s see what is said about successful people. Professor Cooper has divided successful people into 2
categories: the entrepreneurs and the intrapreneurs. The former often left school early and had
several business disasters. They have awkward personalities, but they are very determined. The latter
are the children everyone thought would do well. Over half of them went to Universities. They are good
organized and get on well with people. Michael Breen who runs seminars on various aspects of being
successful says , “Success doesn’t happen by accident. Successful people are the ones who, when
something doesn’t work, try something else. Unsuccessful people keep on doing the same thing, only
harder.”
You can see that to be successful doesn’t mean to be rich. Very often your determination is more
important. I want you to be organized, adaptable, ambitious in your future career.
8. Домашнее задание.
Use the spidergram and tell us about any self-made person. Our lesson is over. Your marks are…. Good
luck!
