Тема урока: «Защита окружающей среды в России и
Тульской области»
Цель урока: Знакомство и обсуждение экологической ситуа-
ции в нашей стране и Тульской области, путей
защиты окружающей среды, личного участия в
ней каждого человека.
Задачи урока: 1)Обеспечить отработку лексики по теме
«Окружающая среда» в рамках речевой си-
туации «Как защищают окружающую среду в
России и Тульской области» в серии языковых
и речевых упражнений;
2)Формировать умение делать сообщение по
теме, используя текст в качестве опоры;
3)Развивать умение участвовать в ролевой иг-
ре.
Оснащение урока: карта России, карты и таблицы Тульской
области, карточки, упражнения на
доске.
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент.
Приветствие учителя. Рапорт дежурного. Сообщение учителем
темы и цели урока.
T: An English writer John Galsworthy said, “If you don’t think about the
future you will not have it”. We have already talked about global
environmental problems and the way people protect nature in Britain. Today
we are going to speak about environmental protection in Russia and in Tula
region.
II. Выполнение упражнения на отработку изучаемой лексики.
Задание «Заполни пропуски».
Учащиеся формулируют глобальные экологические
проблeмы, вставляя в пропуски слова или части слов. Работа
выполняется учеником на доске параллельно с самостоятельной
работой остальных учащихся на листах с заданиями (Task 1).

Монологические высказывания учащихся об экологической
ситуации в России на базе трансформации прочитанного текста
для выражения собственных мыслей.
T: Are these environmental problems typical of our country? At home you were to
use Ex. 5, p. 68 69 to speak about the ecological situation in it.
P: Russia is a beautiful country. There are many rivers, lakes, forests, animals and
plants in it. But factories and transport pollute the atmosphere with toxins and
dangerous chemicals. Fish dies in dirty water of our rivers. People cut down trees
and kill animals for fur, meat and for fun They throw litter in the streets and leave
cans, plastic bottles and glass at the campsites.
Winters in Russia are very cold, especially in the North. That’s why many
people in Russia wear fur coats. If you wear a fur coat abroad sometimes people
from Greenpeace spray your coat with paint. “We shouldn’t kill animals for
clothes”, they say.
People in the whole world sort their rubbish: there are special containers for
paper, tins, food, white glass, brown glass and green glass. After that special
factories recycle these materials and people reuse them. Unfortunately in Russia
only big cities have such containers.
In Europe people clean up after dogs with special pooper scoopers. We don’t do
that in this country.
Nature is in danger!
IV. Групповая работа учащихся. Ролевая игра «Конференция по
экологической ситуации в Тульской области».
T: Let’s speak about the ecological situation in Tula region. At home you were
also to work in groups. The first group are experts from Greenpeace. They are
interested in the ecology of our region. They wear to prepare questions for you.
The other groups were to comment on the maps and the tables and speak about
different environmental problems in our region. Let’s start our conference.
Experts: Are you happy with the ecology situation in Tula region?
P: I’m afraid we are not.
Experts: What are the main ecological problems in your region?
P: They are similar to the problems you have in your countries: air and water
pollution, destruction of ozone layer, deforestation, greenhouse effect, the problem
of recycling, endangered animals, birds and plants. But one of the main ecological
problems of our region is radioactive pollution.
Experts: What are the reasons of radioactive pollution in Tula region?
P: After the catastrophe on Chernobyl atomic power station 18 from 23 districts in
our region are polluted with radiation
Experts: What enterprises in your region pollute the atmosphere?
P: The first place in air pollution take electric power stations in Alexin,
Novomoskovsk, Shchekino and Yefremov. The second place take ferrous metallurgy
enterprises. The biggest of them are joint-stock company “Tula Chermet” and
Kosaya Gora metallurgical plant. The third place belongs to the chemical
enterprises in Alexin, Yefremov, joint-stock companies “Shokinoazot” and “Azot”
in Novomoskovsk. Not only industrial enterprises but also transport pollute the
atmosphere.
Experts: What is the situation with water pollution in Tula region like?
P: Water is polluted by industrial enterprises of Chemical, fuel, machine-building
industries and electric power stations. The biggest enterprise of fuel industry is in
Kireyevsk district. The most famous machine-building plants are in Tula, Donskoy,
Uzlovaya, Venyov, Kimovsk and Kireyevsk. The second place in water pollution
take housing and commmunal services and the third place belongs to agriculture.
Experts: What are the most polluted rivers in Tula region?
P: There are many beautiful rivers in Tula region. They are the Oka, the Upa, the
Krasivaya Mecha, the Don, the Osyotr. Almost all the rivers in our region in the
parts near big towns and industrial enterprises are polluted.
Experts: What is the wildlife in Tula region like?
P: Many years ago our forests were full of animals and birds. Rivers were full of
fish. Now the situation is quite different. Such animals as bears, wolves, wild
boars, deer, beavers, squirrels have almost disappeared in our region. People
hunted big animals for meat or for fun. They killed beavers and squirrels for
beautiful fur. Sixteen birds of our region are put down into the Red Book of Russia,
for example, Brant-goose and wood pecker. Brand-goose flies into our region
from Yamal. It makes a nest on the ground from different plants. The bird nests
only in our country. Wood peckers live in mixed forests of our region. The wood
pecker eats insects. This bird is a doctor of forests.
People try to take care of animals in our region. The don’t hunt, give them, give
them feed in the forests, organize nature preserves, for example, a nature preserve
for preserve for beavers in the South of the region.
