1.Учитель: Good morning boys and girls. We are glad to see you. How are you? What date is it
today? What day of the week is it? Are you ready for the lesson? The theme is music in my life.
So let’s start our unusual lesson.
Учитель: So today we are going to speak about your favourite kind of music, compare modern
and classical music, listen to your opinions and feelings about contemporary music
2. Warming-up (звучит музыка)
T: Close your eyes and listen to some music (“Autumn” by Vivaldi).While listening
let your imagination fly and draw a picture in your mind .Describe your imaginary
Look at the board, please, and read the motto of our lesson (“Life without music
would be a mistake”) Do you agree with this wonderful quotation?
P1: It goes without saying I do, because we can’t imagine our life without music.
P2: I think life without music would be boring!
P3: In my opinion, life without music isn’t interesting at all.
P4: Really, the life would be a mistake if we didn’t hear music, because music helps us in
everything we do.
1. Prove the following statements using the text:
1.Music is an essential part of our life.
2.Music is a great power.
3. Appreciation of music is not a matter of individual taste.
4. Certain types of music may be harmful.
5. Music can help in our daily life.

Учитель: First tell me if you can think of a day without music. Why? (ответы учащихся) So
music accompanies us all the time. Music reflects our life, we can say that our life gives birth to
music but our life is different that’s why there are different styles of music. What styles can you
name? (На доске нарисовано дерево, в основании которого написано – жизнь, учащиеся
называют известные им стили музыки, учитель прикрепляет листы с их названиями на
Учитель: Let’s speak about the styles of music. Но для начало приклейте слова на бумагу и
получиться ответ . у кого вышел ответ тот отвечает на вопрос What is it meant by the term
Ученик: These are songs that were created by ordinary people. This music reflects the traditions
of the country.
Учитель: What can you say about rock music?
Ученик: It is played on electrical instruments and repeats a few simple phrases. It was made
popular by Elvis Presley.
Учитель: What do you know about heavy metal music?
Ученик: It’s loud music with a strong beat and with the electrical guitar. The singers often have
long hair and wear black clothes.
Учитель -Different styles of music can be described by different emotional words. Look at the
board and underline the adjectives :
used to describe classical music ( blue colour);
used to describe folk music ( red colour );
used to describe pop music (green colour).
used to describe jazz ( black colour ).
T: Complete the sentences with the words from the box:
Pop music, classical music, reggae, folk music, jazz, punk, country, rap.

Учитель: What kind of music do you like? I know that everyone in your class has got his or her
favourite singer or group. (Учащиеся называют своих любимых исполнителей, некоторые

Учитель: I can conclude that most of you and in general most teenagers prefer rap and hip-hop
music. Let’s talk about it.

Учитель: You have spoken about modern and classical music. Now you are going to express
your feelings in English. Let’s work in pairs and make up the dialogues. But first of you must
open the brackets in right tens.

которые могут быть заранее подготовлены.)
P1: What do you usually do when you are free?
P2: I listen to music. I like rap and pop music very much.
P1: Yes, there are a lot of fashion groups and singers. They are popular but I think their songs
are not worth listening.
P2: I don’t agree with you. This music helps me to forget my problems, it gives me strength and
P1: But it doesn’t mean that their songs are really good. I’m fond of classical music. It is
wonderful, it reflects my emotions.
P2: In my opinion this kind of music is serious and boring.
P1: So I see our tastes are very different.
P2: Yes, you are right.
Учитель: I’ll give you a sheet of paper. Here are different words about music. Put the words in
the correct order and make up the sentences. Translate them. (Группа учащихся выполняет

Учитель: So we can conclude that music is very important in our life. There are different
opinions about music. It is difficult to persuade each other. But maybe it is not worth doing. Our
conversation proves that we don’t have to deny modern music because it gives us pleasure. But
we don’t have to forget classical music because it can describe our thoughts and feelings and it
helps us to understand the complex world of the modern music.
