William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564, exact date of his birth is unknown. His father, John Shakespeare was a wealthy tradesman.Shakespeare's mother, Mary Arden belonged to one of the oldest Saxon families

In first period of his creation Shakespeare wrote mostly poetry. In about 1595 (In the second period) Shakespeare created one of the most famous of his tragedies - "Romeo and Juliet" - the story of true love. In around 1600 Shakespeare creates "Hamlet" - the deepest of his works. Shakespeare's famous tragedy has kept the plot revenge. In 1612, Shakespeare for unknown reasons left the theater and returned to his home in Stratford, where he lived with his wife and daughter. All surviving signature (1612-1613) has bad handwriting, historians think that time he was seriously ill. On April 23, 1616 Shakespeare died. Written on his tombstone epitaph : « Good friend for Jesus sake forbear, To dig the dust enclosed here. Blest be the man that spares thes stones, And curst be he that moves my bones. » Друг, ради Господа, не рой Останков, взятых сей землёй; Нетронувший блажен в веках, И проклят — тронувший мой прах.
